KPDCL to revise power schedule by Mar 01
Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has decided to announce revised electricity schedules in the Valley after March 01.
Chief Engineer, Aijaz Ahmad Dar, said that there is no change in the power curtailment schedule as of now.
However, he said that the revised schedule will be announced after March 01.
Pertinently, the power department issues a curtailment schedule during winters as the electricity demand rises quite considerably due to the bone-chilling cold.
Unlike previous years, the 40-day harshest period, chila-i-kalan, didn’t witness any major snowfall this year.
Sources within the KPDCL said that the demand of power during the day has decreased manifold due to rise in temperature.
However, they said that the demand increases in the morning and evening hours. (KNO)
