Police arrests two timber smugglers in Sopore
Srinagar: Police in Sopore arrested two timber smugglers and seized illicit timber at Fidarpora Rafiabad, a police spokesman said here Friday.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at village Fidarpora Rafiabad, a police party alongwith officials of Forest Department raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Abdul Razak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam son of Muhammad Rajab Hajam both residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 189/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation set into motion, he added.
