DGP sanctions special welfare relief

Jammu: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of deceased police personnel, the Director General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 2.78 Crore ex-gratia/ special welfare relief for NoKs of martyred and deceased police personnel, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that under an order Rupees 38 lakh ex-gratia relief has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of martyred Police Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad Dar. Rupees 20 lakh special welfare relief has also been sanctioned in favour of the NOKs of the said Inspector.
Under another order of PHQ, the DGP has sanctioned Rupees 20 Lakh each in favour dependents and legal heirs of deceased police personnel ASI Noor Alam, ASI Mohammad Younis, ASI Joginder Singh, HC (P) Naseer Ahmad, HC Gurmeet Singh, Sgct Mohammad Maqbool, Sgct Mohammad Maroof, Ct. Bilal Ahmad, Foll. Ashok Kumar, Foll Rajinder Kour, Foll. Ved Parkesh and Foll. Bilal Ahmad. These personnel have passed away while in service, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, the DGP has also sanctioned Rupees 25 thousand each in favour of two SPOs who were injured in terror related incidents. Similarly, Rupees ten thousand has been sanctioned in favour of a constable and Rupees five thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of three police personnel who were injured during performance of their duties. The amount has been sanctioned as a welfare relief from the Central Police welfare fund.
Pertinently, police headquarters has sanctioned over Rupees 37 crore as Ex-gratia and Special welfare relief in favour of martyred/ deceased police personnel during this year till today. Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of martyrs, their wards and also for the retired police personnel and their spouses
