Sopore: Security forces launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in north Kashmir’s Sopore and its outskirts on Friday morning.
An official told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that joint forces of army, CRPP and police cordoned entire Sopore town and all markets and roads were sealed.
He said that all entry and exit points leading towards the main town were sealed.
Local reports said that transport and pedestrian movement was stopped by forces and people were being disallowed to move.
Reports said that the Srinagar-Baramulla highway also reported deployment of troops right from Haigam.
Meanwhile, SP Sopore Sudhanshu Verma also confirmed the CASO and said that search operation has been launched on the basis of information about the presence of militants in the town.
However, after the searches the CASO ended, officials said.
