Pulwama residents complain dilapidated roads
Pulwama: The residents of several villages of Pulwama district in south Kashmir said that they are facing lot of problems due to the dilapidated condition of the roads in the area.
The residents of Hardpora, Shangarpora, Deeri and its adjacent areas said that the roads connecting these villages with district headquarter Pulwama are full of potholes due to which commuters are facing huge difficulties.
Locals from Shangarpora said that a 4 Km long road connecting them with Pulwama town hasn’t been macadamised for the past one decade due to which traffic often remains off the road.
Drivers are reluctant to ply their vehicle even as they were charging exorbitant fares as it causes damage to their vehicle while plying on this stretch, they added.
Residents of Hardpora and Deeri also echoed same voice and said that the bumpy road often leads to accidents.
They said that despite bringing these issues into the notice of higher ups several times nothing has been done on ground.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and macadamise the roads at an earliest so that commuters can heave a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, an official of R&B department said that the roads will be macadamised next year.
