Illicit timber seized by forest officials of Tangmarg
Tangmarg: A team of the Special Forest Division Tangmarg SPSP Range Beerwah seized a vehicle and a horse loaded with illicit timber, officials said Tuesday.
They said that the recoveries were made at various check posts that were established to curb timber smuggling.
On the directions of DFO Tangmarg, the Range officer SPSP Range Beerwah laid night Nakas at different places in forest area of SPSP Range, officials said.
During the nakas the officials seized a Tata mobile vehicle with illicit timber (Deodar round) =21 cfts at Bamrada village and one Horse with illicit timber (Deodar round)=4 cfts at Alammnagh Khag, the officials added.
A case vide FIR No. 89/2021 under section 26 of Indian forest Act and 379 IPC has been registered in concerned police station in this regard, they added.
Meanwhile, DFO Tangmarg appealed to general public not to indulge in forest damage and Cooperate with forest Department to protect and safeguard the forest property.
