Govt HSS Mitrigam faces shortage of staff, students suffer
Pulwama: The government High School in Mitrigam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is facing shortage of staff due to which the students enrolled here are facing a tough time.
The students of class 10th said that for biology subject only the school has a subject specific teacher while as the other subjects are being taught by general line teachers.
They further added that the entire batch has not been able to even complete one chapter in mathematics as no teacher is available to teach the subject at all.
They students lamented that class 10th is an important class and the school authorities are paying no attention for the welfare and well being of the students.
A teacher posted at the school on condition of anonymity acknowledged that the school is facing shortage of staff due to which teachers posted here have to face various issues.
He added that they have been informing higher ups in this regard every day but no avail.
He further added that to teach 11 classes include KG, there are just seven teachers due to which students aren’t getting proper attention.
The teacher further added that there is no clerk, no peon and no laboratory besides library in the school.
Locals claimed that the school has enrolled more than 100 students but no attention is being given towards the betterment of the school.
They along with students requested higher up to look into the matter at an earliest.
District Primary Education officer (DPEO) who is also in-charge Chief Education Officer Pulwama said that providing adequate staff to all schools is our priority and in coming one week all the schools in the district will get adequate staff.
