Man dies, his brother injured in road accident at Pattan in north Kashmir
Srinagar, Jan 29: A man died while his brother was injured after a truck collided with their vehicle in north Kashmir’s Pattan area on Thursday morning, officials said.
An official said that the accident occurred at Hyderbeigh when a truck bearing (registration number JK03E 8418), traveling from Srinagar to Baramulla, collided with an Eco vehicle bearing registration number (JK04H 7988) coming from the opposite direction.
The driver of the Eco vehicle, identified as Javid Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Nabi Najar of Hygam, died in the collision, the official said.
His brother, Rayees Ahmad, who was also in the vehicle, sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital before being referred to JVC Hospital in Srinagar for further treatment, the official added.
Meanwhile, Police said that a case has been registered at Pattan Police Station and an investigation is underway. (KNS)
