Police extends helping hand to tourists, general public at Ganderbal
Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal provided timely assistance to tourists and local residents stranded due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions at Gund and Sonamarg, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that police teams, deployed on ground despite harsh conditions, are working relentlessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the stranded individuals. The assistance included evacuation of vehicles stuck in deep snow, facilitation of safe movement, and on-spot help to vulnerable commuters.
The swift and coordinated response of police is widely appreciated by tourists and locals alike, reflecting the force’s dedication to humanitarian duties beyond law enforcement, the spokesman added.
He said that police appeals to the general public and tourists to exercise utmost caution, adhere to travel advisories, and strictly follow safety protocols while travelling.
