Police seize machinery, vehicles involved in Illegal Mining
Srinagar: Police in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, Baramulla, took strict action against illegal mining activities at Drangbal, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
During the operation, one JCB machine and two L&T machines were seized for their involvement in illegal mining activities. In addition, seven vehicles (tipper) were also seized at the spot for operating without valid documents.
All seizures were made after due verification, and legal action under the relevant provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR Act) has been initiated against the violators, he added.
