Police arrests drug peddler in Shopian
Srinagar: Police in Shopian arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that during routine naka checking at Dachnoo Heerpora, a police party apprehended a suspicious person. Upon his search apparently Cannabis like substance weighing approximately 5Kgs were recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Aslam Kalas resident of Devpora.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 06/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Heerpora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
