Police recovers significant quantity of contraband substance in Shopian, one held
Srinagar: Police in Shopian recovered a significant quantity of contraband substance from residential house in Barbugh Imamsahib and arrested the accused person, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that acting on specific information, police registered a case under FIR No. 02/2026 of NDPS Act and obtained a search warrant from the competent authority. A police team accompanied by the Tehsildar Barbugh raided the residential premises of Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday resident of Barbugh. During the search, 20.720 Kgs of cannabis & 130 grams charas like substance was recovered from residential house. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway, the spokesman added.
