ADC Sopore chairs review meeting to ensure smooth republic day celebrations

Sopore: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, S.A. Raina, chaired a comprehensive preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the smooth and successful celebration of Republic Day on January 26 across the Sub-Division Sopore.
The meeting was attended by senior officers and representatives of various government departments, including Police, Jal Shakti, Roads & Buildings (R&B), Education, Health, Municipal Committee, and other line departments. The objective of the meeting was to ensure seamless coordination among all stakeholders for the conduct of the national Republic day with due dignity and enthusiasm.
During the meeting, ADC S.A. Raina reviewed the preparedness of each department and issued clear directions to finalize all arrangements well in advance. Emphasis was laid on security arrangements, venue preparedness, sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply, healthcare facilities, traffic management, and overall public convenience.
The Police Department was directed to put in place a robust security plan to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of participants and the general public. The R&B Department was instructed to ensure proper maintenance and readiness of roads and venues, while the Municipal authorities were asked to focus on cleanliness, sanitation, and beautification of the designated areas.
The Education Department was directed to ensure active participation of school students in cultural programmes, while the Health Department was asked to keep medical teams and ambulances on standby to deal with any emergencies. The Jal Shakti Department was instructed to ensure uninterrupted water supply at all venues.
ADC Sopore stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and punctual execution of assigned responsibilities. He urged all officers to work with dedication and a sense of responsibility to uphold the spirit of the Constitution and make the Republic Day celebrations a memorable and incident-free event.
The meeting concluded with the reiteration that all departments must remain fully prepared and alert to ensure the smooth, peaceful, and dignified conduct of Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026 in Sopore Sub-Division.
