Police arrests two notorious drug peddlers in Ganderbal

Srinagar: Police in Ganderbal busted a drug racket by arresting two notorious drug peddlers and recovered narcotic substances, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that in a well-coordinated operation, police at a checkpoint established at Tengpora Dhobipora intercepted and apprehended two persons. They have been identified as Aqib Rashid Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, and Tasaduq Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, both residents of Guzerbal, Ganderbal.
Upon thorough search, police party recovered one bag from Aqib Rashid Bhat containing 1024 grams of bhangpatri (ganja-like substance) and 58 grams of charas-like substance. Moreover, another bag weighing 780 grams of bhangpatri (ganja-like substance) was recovered from Tasaduq Majeed Bhat, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 201/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway, he said.
