Says take it back if we don’t deliver
SKIMS, IUST, BGSBU, PDCL not under elected govt’s control
Ruhullah has breached party discipline by reaching out to NC leadership through media

Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday asked the Centre to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir along with security powers. He said the elected government should be allowed to show its performance, but if it fails, New Delhi has the right to take back control.
“Give us statehood with security — then see…. If we fail, take it back through Parliament, ” Omar said after the two-day National Conference Working Committee meeting at Nawa-e-Subh Complex in Srinagar. He recalled that during his previous tenure, Delhi- and Pahalgam-type attacks never happened.
Omar said the party reviewed its work over the past year, especially Budgam and Nagrota, and promised to correct any mistakes. He emphasised party discipline and praised MP Aga Syed Ruhullah, who has been in Parliament since 2002, for following party rules.
The Chief Minister raised concern that several key institutions, including SKIMS, BGSBU, IUST, PDCL, and some other Departments, are still outside government control.
“At SKIMS, files do not reach us,” he said.
Omar also clarified that demolition drives are not under his orders.
On public services, Omar urged universal electricity metering, saying that coverage below 50 percent limits improvement. He also said the daily-wager issue is being addressed and the CSC report will be discussed in the next cabinet meeting. Cabinet expansion will be taken up by Dr Farooq Abdullah.
At the end of the meeting, seven resolutions were passed, including the party’s support for restoration of special status, full statehood, protection of Kashmiris, fulfilling manifesto promises, and backing the Omar-led government.
