Journalist interacts with students at Bandipora school

Bandipora: Mir Ahsan Bureau, Chief of Hindustan Times Kashmir Bureau, visited PM Shri Government Secondary School Laharwalpora and interacted with students and teachers in an engaging session.
During his interaction with the students of Class 10, Mir Ahsan discussed the rich history and significance of Wular Lake—one of Asia’s largest freshwater lakes—and its vital role in the lives of the people of Kashmir in general, and the residents of Laharwalpora in particular.
He urged the students to contribute towards the restoration of the pristine beauty of Wular Lake and to take pride in preserving their natural heritage.The school is located on the banksa of world famous wullar Lake offering a serene environment for education and learning.
The senior journalist also quizzed the students about the various resources and products derived from Wular and highlighted its importance as a source of livelihood for over 50,000 people. The students, in turn, asked several insightful questions, making the session highly interactive and enriching.
Earlier, Headmaster Javaid Jawad introduced the guest to the students and shed light on the noble profession of journalism. He warmly welcomed Mir Ahsan and thanked him for accepting the school’s invitation.
Later, Mir Ahsan joined the students for a friendly game of cricket and interacted informally with the staff. He expressed his appreciation for the school’s improved infrastructure and vibrant academic environment, lauding the efforts of the young teaching team under the leadership of award-winning teacher Javaid Jawad.
He remarked that with such dedication, the institution is well on its way to becoming a model school in the region. Mir Ahsan was accompanied by his wife and son during the visit.
