Army jawan injured in mine blast along LoC in Poonch

Mendhar/Jammu: A porter engaged with the Border Security Force (BSF) died on Monday after falling into a gorge in Poonch district, officials said.
The incident took place in the Sawjian border area when 30-year-old Mushtaq slipped from a hill and fell into a gorge, dying on the spot, they said, adding that the body has been recovered.
According to an official, the deceased was working as a porter with the BSF. Police have taken cognisance of the matter.
Meanwhile, an Army jawan was injuried in a mine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch.
The incident took place in the Tain Mankote forward area of Mendhar tehsil when the jawan reportedly stepped on a mine during routine patrolling, triggering the explosion, they said.
The jawan, who is said to be an Agniveer, was administered first aid at a nearby Army post and later airlifted to Udhampur for specialised treatment.
