Seeks tight vigil on Govt offices, Hospitals

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesman Altaf Thakur on Monday hailed the Police for their outstanding work in busting a major terror network, leading to the arrest of two Kashmiri doctors allegedly found in possession of a huge quantity of RDX.
In a statement issued here, Thakur expressed deep shock and anguish over the involvement of medical professionals in terror activities.
“It is unfortunate and shameful that those entrusted with saving lives were found plotting to destroy them. Such betrayal of the sacred medical profession is both criminal and unforgivable,” he said.
Thakur called for enhanced surveillance and strict background verification of employees serving in government offices and hospitals, saying that infiltration of radical elements in vital public institutions poses a serious threat to peace and security.
The BJP leader also lashed out at political parties opposing the termination of government employees with terror links, accusing them of playing politics over national security.
“Those who oppose action against terror-linked employees are indirectly supporting anti-national elements. There can be no place for sympathizers of terrorism in public service,” Thakur said.
He lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their professionalism, courage, and commitment in unearthing the terror plot. “JK Police once again proved their mettle. Their tireless efforts to safeguard peace and stability in the region deserve the highest appreciation,” he remarked.
Thakur further urged the police and security agencies to intensify efforts to root out the remaining terror ecosystem from Jammu and Kashmir. “No institution—be it a hospital, office, or school—should ever be misused for anti-national designs. Every citizen must stand firmly behind our police and security forces in their mission to make Jammu and Kashmir terror-free,” he added.
