Press Club of Kashmir, media bodies express grief and shock over Tariq Bhat’s demise
Srinagar: The Press Club of Kashmir and other media bodies on Tuesday expressed shock over the demise of senior Journalist Tariq Bhat.
The executive body of the Press Club of Kashmir, led by Mohammad Saleem Pandit, on Tuesday expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family over the sudden passing of veteran journalist Tariq Bhat due to heart failure.
Late Tariq Bhat passed away at a young age and was serving as the Bureau chief of The Week of Kerala, the PCK said in a statement.
Tariq Bhat began his journalism career in 1993 and worked with several newspapers.
He was a steadfast believer in the oneness of Allah Almighty and followed the path of Tawheed in both letter and spirit, said the president, Mohammad Saleem Pandit.
The executive body also prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
The President M Saleem Pandit recalled his association with the late Tariq Bhat in the former’s weekly periodical “Submission” in 1993 and said that the late Tariq was humble and a gentleman to the core. He would never jump into the controversies of the journalistic hostilities.
May Allah Almighty offer him the highest place in Jannat and confer patience on the bereaved family to bear this huge loss, the members of the club prayed.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Video Journalists Association also mourned the loss.
The Kashmir Video Journalists Association (KVJA) expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Tariq Ahmad Bhat, a senior and highly respected journalist from Srinagar, the association said in a statement.
Tariq Ahmad Bhat was widely admired for his affable, cheerful, and sociable nature. He exemplified integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty throughout his career, carrying out his responsibilities with unwavering dedication and sincerity, it said.
Members of the Association paid glowing tributes to the departed journalist, acknowledging that his absence will be deeply felt and his contributions long remembered.
The KVJA prays for eternal peace to the departed soul and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
May Almighty grant them strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.
The Kashmir Press Photographers Association (KPPA) also expressed grief and shock over the death of veteran journalist Tariq Bhat, Bureau Chief of The Week magazine, who passed away on Tuesday morning.
In a statement, the KPPA said the association held a condolence meeting to mourn Bhat’s demise. Office bearers and photojournalists expressed deep sorrow and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant strength and forbearance to the bereaved family.
The members also offered special prayers for the departed soul, praying to Almighty Allah to grant Tariq Bhat the highest place in Jannat.
