Police arrests absconder man in Shopian
Srinagar: Police arrested an absconder, who had been evading arrest for the last 23 years, a police spokesman said Saturday.
He said that the accused has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Ashan Mir, resident of Wathoo, Shopian. He was wanted in Case FIR No. 28/2002 under sections 366, 376, and 109 RPC of Police Station Rajpora.
Acting on specific information, a special team conducted an operation and apprehended the accused after decades of evasion. After completing all legal formalities, the accused was produced before the court of Law, the spokesman added.
