Police arrests drug peddler in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Hanjiwera Bridge intercepted a suspicious person, who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During his personal search, a yellow-coloured polythene bag containing charas-like substance in stick form weighing approximately 40 grams was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Momin Ahmad Dar, son of Shahmeem Ahmad Dar, resident of Rambail Gad, Shaltang, Srinagar.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 205/2025 under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
