Police arrests two accused in alleged murder case in Ganderbal
Srinagar: In a major breakthrough, police arrested two accused persons involved in the alleged murder case of Kangan. The investigation revealed that after committing the crime, the accused dumped the victim’s body into a canal.
After strenuous efforts, the body of the deceased was recovered from the canal and accordingly case FIR No.64/2025, U/S 103 (1) BNS stands registered at PS Kangan. After medico-legal formalities, the body has been handed over to the deceased family for the last rites.
During the course of preliminary investigation, a wire used in the crime was recovered. Significantly, one of the close friends of the deceased has emerged as the prime eyewitness, whose statement has proven vital in cracking the case, the spokesman added.
The arrests mark a significant step towards ensuring justice for the victim. SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal assured that further investigation is in full swing to unearth all aspects of the case and bring every individual involved to book, the spokesman added.
