Police arrests bootlegger in Awantipora, illicit liquor recovered
Srinagar: In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, police in Awantipora arrested a bootlegger and seized illicit liquor from his possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party during a routine patrolling at Awantipora, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a bag. He has been identified as Bahrat Moosiyar son of Rawa Moosiyar Resident of Bigam Bihar Bitiyar. During search, 07 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the bag. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 197/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
