Police arrests drug peddler in Khrew, Awantipora
Srinagar: Police in Awantipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that during naka checking at Babapora Khrew, a Police Party intercepted one person in suspicious condition, who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search, 01 gram of Heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddler has been identified as Rayees Ahmad Hajam son of Ghulam Mohammad Hajam resident of Sharshali Khrew.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 67/2025 under relevant sections of las has been registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation has been taken up, the spokesman added.
