Army says infiltration attempt along LoC was foiled in Poonch
Jammu, Sep 1: The Army on Monday foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar Sector of Poonch district, officials said.
An official said that troops guarding the border noticed a group of terrorists trying to sneak into this side near Dabbi village of Balakote in the early hours on Monday.
He said the troops challenged the movement and heavy gunfire was exchanged between the two sides.
“The area has been cordoned off, and a massive search operation is underway,“ he added.
