Cultural Unit Srinagar holds anti-drug awareness programmes

SRINAGAR: Cultural Unit Srinagar of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), in collaboration with the district administration Srinagar, Wednesday organised a series of anti-drug awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.
The first programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School Palapora, Srinagar and was presided over by Principal, Nighat Parveen.
Cultural performances and motivational talks held during the event highlighted the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The event saw active participation from students, staff, and officials of the Information Department.
Later in the day, a similar programme was organised at Government MPML Higher Secondary School, Bagh-i-Dilawar Khan, Srinagar, presided over by Principal, Nikhat Mir.
In both events, Cultural Officer Burhan Hussain addressed the gatherings, stressing the urgent need to curb the menace of drugs through awareness, community involvement, and strong moral resolve.
Participants also took a formal anti-drug pledge, affirming their commitment to remain drug-free and spread awareness within their communities.
