News Flash – A Crisis!
By: Zoya Qazi
Voids are increasing, and humans are doing anything and everything to fill them. But the voids are not giving in, they’re mimicking the black holes, snatching human essence in every way they can.
Now the question arises: Is this our last phase? Are we going to be saved? If yes, how so? Are the things we’re putting into the void right, or are we just thrusting anything into it?
Let’s find the answers together along the way.
What is human essence?
I personally think of it as the fragrances that make us—the woody fragrance of thought, understanding, and curiosity; the fruity fragrance of joy and whimsy; the floral scent of love, of all kinds; the earthy fragrance of kindness, empathy, and belonging; the oceanic fragrance of grief and melancholy; the fragrance of old houses, of nostalgia.
We have so many notes to ourselves, but day by day, we’re losing them.
The stink and rot are taking over.
We’re slowly losing the basics such as smiling at strangers, laughing senselessly at everything, pondering over things , what they are? what could they be? changing our views, opening our minds to newest possibilities.
Reading is now a performance.
Materialism defines who we are, our clothes, our individuality; the rings we wear, our connections and status.
These now define us.
“I, me, myself” is not how things should be, nor the superficial realities we’ve created for ourselves.
If this continues, the void will not decrease.
Rather, it will increase and increase and increase until it takes us with it.
And all that will remain is the dejection of our souls.
We will never be whole.
And hell will arrive before our deaths.
Let’s be conscious of the human essence.
Let’s bring it back.
