Police seizes three vehicles, arrests thee persons in Kulgam

Srinagar: Police in Kulgam seized three vehicles and apprehended three individuals involved in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police team at Mirbazar, Khrewan, intercepted a JCB and a dumper involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. The vehicles were seized and their drivers have been arrested.
In a similar action, one more vehicle (tractor) was seized at a checkpoint established at Nowpora. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for his involvement in the illicit transportation of minerals.
Accordingly, cases have been registered at Police Station Qazigund under relevant provisions of law, and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
26 probationary IPS officers call on DGP

Srinagar: 26 probationary IPS officers (77 RR batch) from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), called on the Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat on Wednesday, a police spokesman said here.
He said that the young officers interacted with the DGP and other senior officers. They were briefed on the unique challenges which J&K Police faces and the role and contribution of J&K Police in combating terrorism, the spokesman added.
