Police solves theft case in Awantipora, stolen property recovered
Srinagar: Police in Awantipora solved a theft case by arresting an accused person involved in the crime and recovered stolen property from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that on Saturday last police received a written complaint from Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat resident of Khrew regarding the theft of welding machine alongwith cable from his shed located at his native village.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 54/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police station Khrew and investigation was started, the spokesman said.
Acting swiftly, the investigating team conducted a detailed investigation, gathering leads from the local area.
During the course of investigation, one suspect identified as Zuhain Farooq Lone son of Farooq Ahmad Lone resident of Khrew was zeroed in and during questioning, the accused admitted his involvement in the crime. Officers recovered the stolen items from his possession and later handed them over his rightful owners after completion of legal formalities, the spokesman added.
