Srinagar: In a major push to promote Jammu and Kashmir as a premier travel destination, the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) organized a massive road show in West Bengal, drawing participation from over 150 tour operators, travel agents, and key stakeholders in the tourism industry.

The event, held at a prominent venue in Kolkata, witnessed an overwhelming response as participants explored opportunities for collaboration and discussed ways to attract more tourists from Eastern India to the Valley. The road show aimed to revive and strengthen travel ties between the two regions, especially ahead of the upcoming autumn and winter seasons in Kashmir.

TASK representatives highlighted Kashmir’s scenic beauty, improved infrastructure, and enhanced safety measures. Detailed presentations showcased new tourism circuits, adventure travel options, spiritual trails, and heritage destinations.

Speaking at the event, TASK President Ibrahim Siah said, “This initiative is part of our larger strategy to re-establish Kashmir as the go-to destination for leisure, honeymoon, and cultural tourism. The response from Bengal’s travel fraternity has been very encouraging.”

The road show also featured B2B meetings, promotional material distribution, and a cultural segment that highlighted Kashmir’s rich heritage through music, art, and cuisine.

Tour operators from Bengal expressed enthusiasm about the growing connectivity and hospitality infrastructure in Kashmir, pledging to include more Kashmir packages in their offerings.

The event is seen as a timely step toward reviving tourist inflow from the East and expanding Kashmir’s outreach in the national travel market.
