Police arrests drug peddler in Kulgam
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Arreh, Kulgam intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration No JK05B-4138 driven by Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Habibullah Dar resident of Shadab Krewah, Shopian. During search, Poppy Straw like substance weighing 5.6 Kgs filled in a bag was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 72/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
