In a first, authorities install two water ATMs in Sopore
Sopore: In a significant move, authorities in Sopore, has installed and inaugurated two water ATMs providing mineral water (RO) to the public at no charge. These water ATMs are being installed at two prominent locations in the town, one at Iqbal market Sopore and another one at Main gate of municipal council department near Main Chowk, officials said.
Both the water ATMs points were inaugurated by MLA Sopore, Irshad Rasool Kar along with ADC Sopore and EO municipal council Sopore, on Wednesday and made accessible to the public, the officials added.
These ATMs are part of a larger initiative to install more such facilities at various public locations across the town, said MLA Sopore. He said that these water ATMs are a collaborative effort between the administration and municipal council Sopore.
Meanwhile, Executive officer Municipal council Sopore, Showkat Ahmad revealed, that the water ATMs have been deployed at two prominent locations in Sopore town.
“They will soon be extended to other parts of town,” he said, adding that these ATMs offer free access to clean and hygienic water, catering to the needs of shopkeepers, pedestrians and other outside visitors.
“The primary objective is to ensure that the public has access to safe drinking water,” he added.
