Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seize two mechanized motor boats
Srinagar: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police seized two Mechanized Motor Boats in Awantipora in south Kashmir, a police spokesman said Friday.
He said that a police party seized two mechanized motor boats being used for illicit extraction of sand from river Jehulm. The individuals involved have been identified as Rayees Ahmad Wani son of Jalal-ud-Din Wani, Shakeel Ahmad Lone son of Khazir Mohd Lone, Manzoor Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Akbar Wani, Ajaz Ahmad Lone son of Gulam Mohi ud Din, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohd Dar and Gulam Mohi ud Din Wani son of Ibli Wani, all residents of Bunderpora Awantipora.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR NO. 133/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
