Police arrests four persons and seized three vehicles in Awantipora

Srinagar: Police in Awantipora intensified efforts to combat illegal mining activities and has seized three vehicles and arrested four persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party seized three tippers bearing registration numbers JK03D-0473, JK03B-9010 & JK03B- 4872 and arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. They have been identified as Abdul Hamid Dar, Fayaz ahmad Dar and Ghulam Mohi Uddin Dar all residents of Aghanjipora and Fayaz Ahmad Shairgojri resident of Padgampora.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 118/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, the spokesman said.
