Two bridges sanctioned under NABARD for Pulwama district
‘Locals express joy, demand their completion on time’
Pulwama: In a significant development aimed at boosting infrastructure and connectivity in south Kashmir, two vital bridge projects have been sanctioned under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for Pulwama district.
The sanctioned bridges will connect Drabgam to Kamrazipora and Goosu to Deeri village, both spanning the Nallah Romshi stream.
Local residents have welcomed the move with enthusiasm, stating that the long-standing demand for improved connectivity is finally being addressed.
The bridges are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the link between Pulwama and neighboring Budgam district, easing travel and promoting economic activity in the region.
“These bridges are not just infrastructure projects; they are lifelines for our villages. People from both sides of Nallah Romshi face tremendous difficulties, especially during rains and the winter season. This will be a big relief,” said Mohammad Ayoub, a resident of Drabgam.
They said that their demands have been met after repeated requests to the government and they are thankful to concerned authorities.
They have requested them to complete these projects within the given time so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
Officials said that once completed, the bridges will enhance road safety and ensure better access to healthcare, education, and markets, particularly for farmers and students.
The projects are also expected to reduce travel time and boost inter-district connectivity between Pulwama and Budgam.
They said that construction work is expected to commence soon, and assured timely completion of these projects with quality assurance measures in place.
