Police arrests three drug peddlers in Sopore, Kupwara
Srinagar: Police arrested three drug peddlers in Sopore and Kupwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Thursday.
He said that a police party at a checkpoint established at Neharpora Sopore, intercepted a Vehicle (Ecco) bearing registration No. JK05M-4294 driven by Jahangir Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah resident of Neharpora Sopore. During search, police Party recovered 300 tablets of Alpradex 0.5 and cash amount of ₹22550 from his possession. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.
Moreover, a police party at a checkpoint established at Super Bazar near Batpora Crossing, apprehended a suspicious person identified as Asif Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Shahabad Sopore. During search, police party recovered two sticks of contraband charas like substance from his possession.
In Kupwara, a police party from Police Station Lalpora while on patrolling duty in the Bunpora area, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Fayaz Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Lolab. During search, substantial amount of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession, the spokesman added.
