Police solves theft case in Bandipora, accused arrested
March 26: Police in Bandipora solved a theft case within hours by arresting an accused person involved in the crime, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that police received a complaint from a shopkeeper identified as Nazir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Sadeeq Mir resident of Bandipora Ward No.4 running a copper shop at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora, stating therein that some unknown thieves have barged into his shop and stole an amount of rupees RS,170000 (One lac seventy thousand)-(Approx).
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 51/25 U/S 303(2) 332(c) BNSS was registered in Police Station Bandipora and investigation was initiated.
During investigation, with the help of technical as well as human support, investigating team was able to arrested the accused from Bemina Srinagar. He has been identified as Imran Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Nabi Sofi resident of Rak Arath Dal Colony, Bemina Srinagar and stolen cash amount of ₹149500 has also been recovered from his possession. Moreover, a vehicle bearing registration number JK05B-8805 used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
