Police solves missing girl case within 12 hours in Shopian
Srinagar: Police in Kulgam solved a case of missing girl within 12 hours, in south Kashmir’s Shopian by recovering a girl and her abductor, a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that police received a missing compliant from Shabir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Haji Check, regarding his 15-year-old daughter (name withheld), who had gone missing since yesterday 11 AM. Acting swiftly, officials launched a search operation.
During the investigation, credible information was received indicating the girl’s presence in Yaripora, Kulgam. Acting on this lead, a police team was deputed to the location.
Following a meticulous search, the missing girl was successfully recovered from Yaripora, Kulgam, with 16-year-old boy (name withheld), resident of Tarigam, Kulgam.
A case FIR No. 60/2025 under Section 137(2) has been registered and further investigation is underway, the spokesman added.
