Manzoor Ahmad, another local resident said that the government has been claiming that this road wasn’t sanctioned and forest clearance is pending then how more than one kilometre was constructed and macadamised in 2014.
He said that there are just 4-5 kilometers pending that will join Tral and Aripal tehsils with Pampore and Srinagar as well.
Locals said that they have been hearing this for last 10 years now that road will be constructed at an earliest but nothing is being done on ground.
They requested concerned authorities especially Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and MLA Tral Rafi Ahmad Naik, to take immediate steps in this regard
Pertinently, the government recently informed the legislative assembly that DPR of around 27 crore has already been prepared for the road, however, its construction is subjected to availability of funds and clearance from the forest department.
