Police books notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act
Srinagar: Police in Anantnag booked a notorious drug peddler under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS), a police spokesman said Wednesday.
He said that the notorious drug peddler identified as Aamir Suhail Ganie, son of Mohd Saidullah Ganie, resident of Reshipora Dialgam has been booked under the PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Acting on credible inputs and as part of ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace in the district, the accused was found involved in illicit drug trafficking, posing a grave threat to society, particularly to the youth, the spokesman added.
