Police attaches immovable property of terrorist associate in Shopian

Srinagar: Police in Shopian attached a double-storied residential property belonging to Ilyas Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Shafi Dar resident of Wandina Melhoura. The attachment was carried out under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA), a police spokesman said Monday.
The property registered under Khasra No. 115 in Wandina village, is valued at Rs. 24,09221/. The attachment has been officially recorded in the revenue records, and the necessary legal notices prohibiting its sale or transfer have been duly issued under the provisions of the UAPA.
This action is linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora and was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal procedures, the spokesman added.
The attachment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It underscores the firm commitment of police to neutralizing threats to national security and maintaining peace and order, he said.
