Police arrests four drug peddlers in Kulgam, Budgam
Srinagar: Police arrested four drug peddlers in Kulgam and Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police party at Qazigund arrested a drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Itoo son in law of Manzoor Ahmad Itoo resident of Kurigam. During search 2 Kgs of Poppy Straw and 06 grams of Brown Sugar like substances were recovered from his possession.
Meanwhile in Budgam, a police party at a checkpoint established at Nadigam-Wadwan Crossing, arrested a drug peddler identified as Bashir Ahmad Hajam son of Noor Mohammad Hajam resident of Wadwan. During search, semi-grinded charas like substance weighing about 3.827 kilograms concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from his possession.
In another action, a police party at Waterhail during naka checking at Samsan Crossing intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Mohammad Yousuf Beigh son of Mohammad Ramzan Beigh resident of Gund Ali Naik and Ishfaq Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Abdullah Dar resident of Kathwara Budgam. During search, 07 sticks of Charas like substance wrapped in a corn husk weighing about 135 grams and semi-grinded Charas like substance weighing 850 grams were recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated, the spokesman added.
