Gamraj Tral residents demand sports facilities in the area

Pulwama: The residents of Gamrag in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district have demanded sports facilities in the area.
The residents of the area said that youth in the area are facing a lot of problems in absence of any sports infrastructure in the area.
They said that local youth are playing in graveyards and sometimes even on roads in absence of any such facilities in the area.
Javid Ahmad Bhat, a local resident said that young people are getting addicted to drugs and there is need to create sports opportunities so as to keep them away from drug menace.
He said that a well-designed playground not only fosters physical activity but also promotes social interaction and community cohesion.
Abdul Rashid Dar, another local resident said that a patch of state land is available in the area and that can be transformed into a sports stadium in the area so that local youth take part in sports activities.
He said that local youth are unable to show their talent in the field as they don’t have facilities where they can practice and nourish their talent.
The locals said that they have brought this issue into notice of concerned authorities several times who assured that sports infrastructure will be created in the area but no steps have been taken so far.
Whenever we visit the office of any officer, they assure that they will take this issue on priority but locals are yet to see anything positive in this regard, they said.
They have sought the attention of MLA Tral and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama  along with concerned BDO in this regard.
