Police arrests bootlegger in Kupwara
Srinagar: In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, Police in Kupwara arrested a person and seized illicit liquor from his possession, a police spokesman said Monday.
He said that a police team at a checkpoint established near Fire Service Station Kalaroos, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat son of Khizar Ahmad Bhat resident of Kalaroos. During the search, 37 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 37/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
