Police arrests four gamblers in Bandipora
Srinagar: Police in Bandipora arrested four gamblers in Markundal Sumbal and seized stake money from their possession, a police spokesman said Saturday.
Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities at Gandh Kol Markundal area of Sumbal, a Police party of PS Sumbal raided the spot and arrested four gamblers.
They have been identified as Mohammad Abdullah Dar son of Mohammad Sadeeq Dar resident of Pushwari Naidkhai Sumbal, Habibullah Malla son of Mohammad Malla resident of Markundal, Abdul Rasheed Dar son of Mohammad Sultan Dar resident of Tengpora Naidkhai Sumbal and Mehraj ud Din Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat resident of Hurpora Naidkhai Sumbal, the spokesman said.
Stake money of ₹13,200 and playing cards were recovered from their possession, the spokesman added.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been initiated.
