Police arrests two drug peddlers in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police team at a checkpoint established near ITI Pattan, intercepted a vehicle Santro bearing registration number JK01L-7671 with 02 persons on board. They have been identified as Mosin Raja son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Tantray resident of Tantraypora Palhallan and Ashiq Hussain Dar son of Abdul Ahad resident of Manzseer Sopore. During search, 2.30 grams of contraband brown sugar was recovered from their possession. Vehicle used in the commission of the crime has been seized.
The accused persons have been arrested and a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation is underway, the spokesman added.
