Illegal extraction of minerals: Police seizes 6 vehicles, arrests five persons in Budgam
Srinagar: Police have arrested five persons and seized six vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Budgam, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
He said that a police party at Waterhail, arrested five persons and seized six vehicles, 01 LNT and 05 tippers bearing registration numbers (JK14C-1705, JK03B-9020, JK05G-5212, JK13-1231 and JK03B-2072) for illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in area of Samson Khansahib. The accused persons have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Pandit resident of Kanoora Khansahab, Ishfaq Ahmad Ganie, Abdul Majeed Dar, Sameer Ahmad Ahangar and Shabir Ahmad Dar all residents of Sholipora Budgam.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
