Pulwama: National Conference (NC) leader and MLA from Rajpora, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, praised the efforts of local authorities in curbing illegal mining activities in Nala Romshi, calling it a success.
“Illegal mining in Nala Romshi has come to a halt, and the employees involved in enforcing these measures deserve encouragement and recognition for their diligent work,” Mir said.
However, he expressed serious concerns about the situation in Rambi Ara, where illegal mining remains rampant.
“The ongoing illegal mining activities in Rambi Ara are intolerable and pose a significant threat to the environment and the local community,” Mir added.
He committed to raising the issue in the upcoming session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, urging for stronger actions and measures to put an end to illegal mining in the area.
Mir emphasized the importance of protecting natural resources and ensuring sustainable practices in mining, stressing that these illegal activities not only damage the environment but also undermine the legal mining operations in the region.
The NC leader has called for a collaborative effort from both the government and the local communities to address the menace of illegal mining, with a particular focus on Rambi Ara, which has become a hotspot for such activities in recent months.
