Man axes mother-in-law to death, injures wife, sister-in-law in Udhampur
Udhampur, Nov 18: A man allegedly killed his mother-in-law and injured his wife and sister-in-law in the Kiya Panchayat Ramnagar area of Udhampur district in the region.
A police official said that an individual identified as Sudesh Kumar, son of Krishan Kumar, a resident of Batadu, Udhampur, allegedly attacked his family members with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in the death of his mother-in-law.
“His wife and sister-in-law were severely injured and rushed to a local hospital in Ramnagar before being referred to the District Hospital Udhampur. The police official said that the wife’s condition is critical; prompting her transfer to GMC Jammu for further treatment.
The sister-in-law is receiving medical attention at the District Hospital Udhampur. He said that Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend Sudesh Kumar, who fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The official cited a personal dispute as the source of the altercation.
