Kashmir Markazi Adab, Sakafat organises literary function in memory of Assadullah Afaqi
Charari Sharief : Kashmir Markazi Adab and Sakafat Saturday organised a day long literary function at Life School Zaloosa Charari Sharief to commemorate the eleventh death anniversary of writer, poet and founding member of Markazi Noor Sheikh ul Alam studies at Kashmir University Assadullah Afaqi.
Professor Shad Ramzan presided over the function while as the president Adabi Markaz Kamraz Mohamad Amin Bhat was the guest of honour.
Participants paid rich tributes to late Assadullah Afaqi and his literary contributions were hailed especially his research work on Sheikh ul Alam Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA).
Scholars associated with Markazi Adab u Sakafat Charari Sharief also highlighted the literary works of Afaqi.
Assadullah Afaqi was a senior officer of J&K cadre who in his lifetime authored many books on Sheikh ul Alam (RA) and headed the Sheikh ul Alam Chair at Kashmir University.
He established the Life Foundation at Zaloosa Charari Sharief and under it’s aegis many educational institutions are functioning in district Budgam.
